Fixed Platform
A platform fixed to the seabed used in the production of petroleum or gas.
Compliant Tower
A fixed structure normally used for the offshore production of oil or gas.
Semi Sub
A floating platform used to produce oil or gas.
Jack Up Rig
An offshore drill rig or platform having a floating hull fitted with retractable legs that can be lowered to the seabed to elevate the hull above wave level.
Drillship
A vessel designed for use exploration and drilling of oil.
FPSO
A floating production storage and offloading installation.
TLP
A vertically moored floating structure, with anchors attached to the seabed.
Gravity based structure (GBS)
A support structure held in place by gravity.
Spar
A floating platform used in typically very deep waters.
Complex
Control hub for platforms and often acts as a bridge link for other platforms. A collection of fixed platforms.
FSU
Floating storage units for oil and gas produced onboard.
Barge
Tankers used to transport crude oil and refined products in coastal water. Used to drag platforms out to sea after construction.
FLNG
A floating production storage and offloading unit that conducts natural gas operations.
Tug Boat
Vessels designed to tow or push large ships or barges.
Well head platform
A type of platform that contains machinery used to extract oil and gas.
