Ohm's law/ Non-Ohmic Conductor Flashcards
when varying the current alters the ammeter and voltmeter reading but would the ratio be constant value
yes
in a graph as the line is straight but if you do V/I you would get the same ratio
what is the formula
V=IR
if were to find out the ratio/the resistance you need to change the formula to R=V/I
what is the following what is it measured in
V
I
R
V- voltage in volts V
I- current in amperes A
R- resistance in Ohms Ω
does a non-ohmic conductor have a linear relationship between voltage and current
what about the gradient
no
the gradient will not be constant because the resistance changes when current changes
is a filament lamp a ohmic conductor and why
no
because as current increase in the filament its temp increases resistance increases with temperature so the ratio of V to I is not constant
