Ohm's Law Flashcards

Q

What is Voltage?

A

Voltage is the force of pressure of electricity, measured in V or E. The higher the voltage, the greater the pressure. Voltage is often compared to water for easier understanding, i.e. Electricity loses pressure because of resistance to its flow just as the flow of water restricted by the valve or tap.

What is Current?

A

Current is a measure of flow of electricity through a conductor under pressure of the voltage and is represented by an I or A (Amp or Ampere). It can be compared with the flow of water through a pipe under pressure of a tank or pump.
