Tell me about your students, how does the curriculum meet their needs?

A

Beginning of the year students sit a baseline assessment which is used to track progress throughout.
After each assessment, Analysis of assessments help to shape the intervention program and exam revision.
Examples used throughout the curriculum help to expose students to things they might not have known (for example patio when teaching area and perimeter)

How does the curriculum make sure there is progression from what students already know?

A

Our Do Now’s aid memory of previously taught concepts, 7 week summer term induction for year 10’s moving to year 11 helps to bridge the gap between year 10 and 11. Interleaving,
SOW is designed in such a way as to start students of with the fundamental topics needed in all other topics (numbers, fractions, etc). All the while making references to other concepts taught throughout the year
