In general, all offers are considered (unilateral/bilateral) by default.
Bilateral
The only common unilateral offers in modern contract law are:
Offers to the public at large, prizes, and rewards.
The UCC covers what types of contracts?
Contracts for the sale of goods.
Farmer offers to sell Buyer all the limestone on his farm and says he will deliver it to Buyer’s business the next day. Is this offer covered by the common law or UCC?
UCC. Minerals severed from a realty by a seller are considered “goods.”
Farmer offers to sell Buyer all the limestone that Buyer quarries out of the back pasture of his farm. Is this offer covered by common law or UCC?
Common Law. Minerals severed from a realty by a buyer is considered to be a sale o finterest in land, which is not covered by the UCC.
Farmer offers to sell Buyer all the trees that Buyer wants to cut down around Farmer’s back pasture. Is this offer covered by common law or UCC?
UCC. Timber is considered a good regardless of who cuts it down.
