Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences

Encourage workers to share information to deuce harm to people experiencing domestic abuse.

MAPPA Aims

Identify who may pose a risk of harm.
Share relevant information about them.
Assess the nature and extent of that risk.
Manage the risk to protect victims and reduce further harm.

Question 4

MAPPA Levels

Answer 4

L1: Used in the majority of cases where risk is low and can be managed by one agency.
L2: Used for high risk cases where the active involvement of more than one agency is required.
L3: Used for very high risk cases. Multi Agency Public Protection Panels are convened. These are for the critical few and require close co-operation at a senior level.

Serious Violent Offender

Answer 5

A person that has been convicted of an offence inferring personal violence. Usually, they have been convicted on indictment and received a prison sentence and will have been assessed as being high risk of causing harm.

Community Payback Orders

Answer 6

Some offenders will have specific programmes which are conditional of their community payback order o prison license while others will work with the social worker to address issues.
