Q

In the Acute Dermal Irritation/Corrosion test, if a corrosive effect is not observed after the last patch is removed, how long should the animal be observed?

A

Q

What is an EC50?

A

Half Maximal EFFECTIVE CONCENTRATION. It’s a measurement of the concentration of a drug, antibody, or toxicant which induces a biological response halfway between baseline and maximum after a specified exposure time.

Q

True or False:
In the Fish Acute Toxicity Test- Surviving fish of the treatment groups are euthanized at the end of the exposure, whereas euthanasia of surviving control fish is not required, but they should not be used in another test.

Q

Describe the two principle test methods of the earthworm acute toxicity test.

A

Screening test (filter paper contact test) involves exposing earthworms to test substances on moist filter paper to identify potentially toxic chemicals to earthworms in soil.

Artificial soil test involves keeping earthworms in samples of defined artificial soil with a range of test substance that was applied. Mortality is assessed 7 and 14 days after application.
