characteristics of epic poetry
include events on a majestic book-heroic battles, large scale settings and dangerous quests. Include larger than life heroes who embody the value of society. Includes superhuman and events that often complicate the plot. The hero is of high birth or national status. The hero performs exceedingly courageous, sometimes even superhuman deeds that reflect the ideas of the era.
characteristics of epic hero
they often travel through heaven and hell on their journey. Usually undertake quests to achieve something of tremendous importance to themselves or their people. Heroes must be brave. They must have superhuman strength. Heroes must have success in battle. Desires eternal glory and fame.
Law of hospitality
Home owner must e hospitable; ad offer food or drink, and comfort before questions. Modesty; The Greeks admire a physically fit human body but they have strict rules of how men and women should dress and act around each other. Women of high rank still have house hole duties so that they know how everything works around a house and managed. Women must be virtuous and have a high standard of morals, hardworking, loyal to her husband, and be a good mother and know how to do household activities like sowing and laundry. Greek heroes respected the gods and customs, brave, physically strong, skillful in war, and intelligent.
