Seven years with Kalypso, Penelope courted, Telémakhos visited by Athena, tells suitors to leave, Antinoos and Eurymachus say no, suspects goddess, Antinoos blames Penelope for standstill, she did the weaving trick, soothsayer says sign of eagle means they will die, they ignore it, mentor gets crew for Telemachus, he tells nurse, Eurycleia, goes to Pylos, sees sacrificing to Poseidon, Mentor gives him strength to talk to Nestor, he says he doesn’t know where he is, sends son to Sparta with him, Athena stays behind, shows appearance, Menelaus says Proteus told him Oddyseus at Kalypsos and Telémakhos leaves, suitors plan an ambush, Penelope worries, gets dream that Athena will protect him, gods make Kalypsos let Odysseus go, makes boat, almost to Scheria, poeisiedon wrecks him, Ino helps him, makes it in river, Athena makes Nausika dream of washing clothes, Oddyseus comes up, she helps him, he goes to palace, Athena shrouds him in mist, helps him, he doesn’t say who he is, the Phaeacians agree to help him, he offers Nausika as wife, next day, at feast, demodokus sings of Odysseus tale, Odysseus cries, go to games, after insulted, wins at discus, then another feast, all the men offer him presents, he asks to hear Troy song, cries, and asked to tell who he is

A

Goes home overnight, sleeping, gets off, boat turns to stone, Athena meets him, tells him to go to Eumaius, disguises him, goes to swine herd, feeds him, very faithful, tells him he heard Odysseus was alive. Mentor tells Telemachus suitors plans, tell him to go to Eumaius, he accepts gifts, leaves, eagle swoops down on goose, interpreted as Odysseus coming back, leaves, takes a prisoner with him. Odysseus sees Eumaius is very good, he says he was a son of King, stolen by pirates, bought by Laertes. Telemachus returns, stops before city, sends ship on, another sign, goes to hut with Odysseus, Eumaius tells Penelope, Athena takes disguise, make a plan, go in as beggar, hide weapons, suitors find out plan didn’t work, Penelope mad at Antinoos, Eurymachus calms down Penelope with lying and false concern, Telemachus goes back, tells Penelope what he learned, not the whole truth, Eumaius and Odysseus go to palace, meet mean swine herd, melanthios, suitors feed him, Antinoos insults, throws stool, Penelope invites him to chamber, he is alone with suitors and Telemachus, another beggar comes in, loses to fight, Amohimonous is nice, odyssey tells him to leave, doesn’t, Athena inspires Penelope to talk, makes them give her gifts, they do, Oddyseus tells maids to go to Penelope, melanthioss sister is mean, Eurymachus insults Odysseus,math rows stool, misses, hits servant, Telemachus stops fight, they hide weapons, saying to euryclia they are protecting them, Penelope talks to Odysseus, tells her he will return, euryclia cleans feet, notices Odysseus scar, keeps secret, Penelope had dream, she decides to pick a suitor by archery, can’t sleep well, another sign, Oddyseus and Telémakhos meet Eumaius, melanthios and another, at dinner, suitors keep getting more signs, appear bloody and gross at dinner, have archery contest, none can do it, Oddyseus reveals himself to Eumaius and other guy, shoots through axes, then shoots Antinoos, Eurymachus, and Telémakhos kills amphimdmdod, gets weapons for swine herds, melanthios gets some weapons, gets locked up, big battle, kill a lot, Athena joins, finishing battle quickly, makes Eurycleia and others clean, then hang disloyal women, then melanthios, then fumigate house, Penelope comes down in shock, lay low so no parents know what happens, Penelope wary, Odysseus makes himself know to her, he tells her what happened, him and Telémakhos go to Laertes, Penelope to be alone in room. Suitors welcomed by hades, meet Agamemnon and Achilles. Odysseus alone with Laertes pretends to be friend, but them proves himself and says he killed the suitors, they have lunch with melanthios dad, parents learn and start army, Athena makes them forget after Laertes kills Antinoos father, eupethies, peace is back.
