Rich Romans had personal physicians that would visit them at home.
Everyone else visited doctors at hospitals or offices at no charge.

The rich did not respect physical work.
As well as a day job, they would also be involved in politics.
It was fashionable to be pale because it proved you didn’t have to work outside for a living.
Occupations of the Middle Classes
The middle class held most of the more respectable jobs, including bakers and silversmiths.
