The principal that the workplace parties themselves are in the best position to identify health and safety risks and to develop solutions
What is the purpose of the occupational health and safety act
The purpose is to protect workers against health and safety hazards on the job
4 right that workers have under the Ohsa
1) the right to participate - workers have the right to be apart of health and safety decisions
2) the right to know- workers have the right to be informed about job dangers, be trained and instructed on dangerous machine operations
3) the right to refuse work- workers have the right to refuse any work that can potentially harm them
4) the right to stop work- workers have the right to stop a job that becomes dangerous or potentially harmful to them
What are some duties and responsibilities for employers under the OHSA
- take all responsible precautions to protect the health and safety of workers
- make sure that the corporation complies with the act and regulations

What role do inspectors have related to the OHSA
- inspect the workplace and any potentially hazardous situations and work refusal
- everyone apart of the business has to listen to the inspector
If an employer doesn’t know about the OHSA can the have the right to ignore it.
