Eclampsia
Complication of pregnancy that includes general edema, hypertension, proteinuria, and convulsions.
Amniocentesis
Surgical puncture of the amniotic sac to remove fluid for lab analysis.
Multigravida
A woman who has been pregnant more than once.
Parity
Carrying a pregnancy to the point of viability regardless of the outcome.
Preeclampsia
A complication of pregnancy characterized by generalized edema, hypertension, and proteinuria.

Time period between fertilization and birth.
Wet mount
A method of adding liquid, usually saline or potassium hydrochloride, to a specimen on a slide for examination and preservation.
Papanicolau test
A test for cancer,especially of the female genital tract, in which a smear of exfoliated cells I’d specially stained and examined under a microscope for pathological changes.
