Placental Abruption

A

Complete disruption of the placenta from the uterine wall. W/ or w/o vaginal bleeding. Amniotic fluid a port wine color. Common complication - DIC. Range of pain, contractions, and amount of bleeding can be mild to severe. Administer tocolytics (Magnesium).
