What parameters would suggest field delivery?

How would you prepare the mother for a field delivery?
Drape mother Oxygen PRN IV TKO Prepare suction, and blankets Take mom's vitals Scrub hands and glove up Reassure mom
You see green stained amniotic fluid, what should you prepare for?
Prepare for a high risk infant and rapid transport
The head begins to emerge with each contraction. Which way should the head be facing?
Down
The face is visible now. What do you do?
bulb suction
The head is delivered. Which shoulder should deliver?
anterior
The baby is now delivered. What do you do- the cord is around the babies neck?
try to slip cord over babies head. if necessary(rare), clamp and cut cord.
When and how do you clamp the cord?
after it stops pulsating
place clamp 4-6” from baby and the second clamp 2” from the first. cut with sterile scissors
The child has a heart rate or 70, weak respirations, is limp and has no reflex stimulation. Color is cyanotic (total body). What is the APGAR?
