Work out what the overall power of the lens is at near so distance rx plus the near distance so for example:

BVP: +2.50
Light from 33cm so -3.00
+2.50 - 3.00 = -0.50
So if L2 is -0.54 that means the lens at near is 0.04D weaker than expected (less plus)
