- Provides lots of energy
- The types are simple (sugars) and complex (starches)

A
- Build, maintain, and repair body cells and tissues
- Helps provide energy and make enzymes, hormones, and antibodies.
- Found in meats, eggs, nuts, etc…

A
- Source of energy
- Made up of fatty acids, and is a type of lipid (fat does not dissolve in water).
- Comes from dairy, meats, and oil

Regulates vital body processes, including metabolism and digestion.
- Vitamin A comes from milk, carrots, and green vegetables
- Vitamin B comes from whole grain cereals, milk, cheese, meat, eggs, and vegetables.
- Vitamin C comes from citrus fruits, broccoli, tomatoes, and potatoes.

- Help form healthy bones and teeth and regulate vital body processes
- These nutrients may not be manufactured.
- Ex. Calcium, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Iron

- Vital to every body function
- Transports other nutrients as well as wastes
- Enables digestion
Helps maintain normal body temperature through perspiration.
