What are the functions of protein?
Protein helps growth and repair of the body.
Where can protein be found?
Animal products, such as meat, fish, cheese, milk and eggs. Vegetable sources include soya-bean products, pulses and nuts.
What are the functions of carbohydrates?
Carbohydrates give the body energy.
Where can carbohydrates be found?
Starch: Cereal, corn flour, potatoes, pasta and flour.
Sugar: Fruit, vegetables, honey, milk and malt products.
What are the functions of fats?
Fats help to provide concentrated sources of energy and help insulate the body in cold weather.
Where can fat be found?
Saturated fat: Usually found in animal products, such as butter and cheese.
Polyunsaturated fat: Usually found in vegetable sources, such as sunflower oil. Avocado, salmon, olives, walnuts

Vitamin A helps with vision, healthy skin and growth.
Where can vitamin A be found?
Green and yellow vegetables and dairy products.
What is the function of vitamin B?
Vitamin B releases energy from foods and creates healthy skin.
Where can vitamin B be found?
Bread, milk and eggs.

Vitamin B12 makes red blood cells.
