Describe Primary Survey
A
The Primary Survey is a quick way for you to find out if someone has any injuries or conditions which are life-threatening. If you follow each step methodically, you can identify each life-threatening condition and deal with it in order of priority

Indications for an oral adjunct airway (guedel)
A
Oral airway - rx for airway obstruction due to relaxation of the upper airway muscles or blockage of the airway by the tongue. Used when the patient is unconscious.

Indications for a nasopharyngeal airway
A
Pt is drunk altered level of consciousness severe sleep apnoea snoring a patient with a clenched jaw patients needing frequent nasal/tracheal suctioning. Better tolerated by the patient. Never used a nasopharyngeal tube when the patient has a deviated nasal septum, epistaxis or nasal polyps.
