A political group of extreme fanatics who rebelled against all foreign elements. Christ’s enemies tried to identify him and his disciples with this group since they were from the same region.

The Jews
This ethnic group, generally speaking is all non-Jews. The Jews intensely hated them and consider them horribly unclean, bathing after even casual contact in the market.
The Gentiles
This ethnic group is a mixed blood Jewish/Gentile group that worship God at Mount Gerizim in a mixed religion. They were intensely hated by the Jews, who even shook the unclean dust of their land off their feet. They were the descendants of the remnant left in land of Israel (the northern kingdom) during the Assyrian captivity that mixed with other races and religions.
