Q

What is in a nuclear reactor

A

A controlled chain reaction that takes place in which atomic nuclei split up and release energy in the form of heat. The heat is used to heat water, the steam created is used to drive a turbine (connected to a generator)

Q

What is nuclear fisson?

A

A slow moving nuetron is absorbed into a uranium nucleus, which makes the nucleaus unstable, causing it to split. This usually creates two smaller nucleuses and two or three neutrons. These then go on to do more nuclear fission
