Notes - 21.1 Parallel Lines Flashcards
Parallel Lines:
Two lines on the same plane that are always the same distance apart and never meet
Transverse Lines:
A line that intersects two lines in the same plane at two different points
of angles formed when a transversal cuts a set of pararrel lines
8 angles are formed
Corresponding Angle:
Lie on the same side of the transversal t, on the same side of lines m and n
Alternate Interior Angle:
Nonadjacent angles that lie on opposite sides of the transversal t, between lines m and n
Alternate Exterior Angles:
Nonadjacent angles that lie on opposite sides of the transversal t, outsides lines m and n
Same-side Interior Angles
Lie on the same side of the transversal t, between line m and n
The Vertex is the ____ variable
Middle
Supplementary Angles:
Angles add up to 180 degrees
Vertical Angles:
Opposite angles
