Q

What will two dots after the note do?

A

Multiply the note’s value by 1.75, e.g.
Double-dotted crotchet = 1.75 crotchets

[NB: this is because a note adds on half, so a second note will add on half of a half (3/4) to give 1 3/4 of a note.]
