What is the Northeast known for?
Its coastal harbors and mountain peaks.
What was the Mayflower Compact?
The pilgrims signed the Mayflower Compact and it stated that they would set up a government and make laws for the good of everyone.
What is a democracy?
The people vote on its representatives and leaders.
What does the Erie Canal connect?
The Hudson River and the Great Lakes. Boats can travel from Lake Erie all the way to New York City.
Why was the Erie Canal built?
There was no quick or cheap way to move goods from the Northeast to the Midwest.
