In 1945 when Japan was kicked out of Korea, why were two Koreas formed and not one?
The people had voted for a ruler (Syngman Rhee), but the northern part had their own election (Kim Il Song) and then all of a sudden there are two rulers. They couldn’t decide who was the actual ruler so they formed two countries. One for Kim Il Song and One country for Syngman Rhee.
