Normal procedures Flashcards
ENGINE START
Right Ignition and Engine Start - ON (R FUEL PRESS extinguished)
Right Condition Lever - LOW IDLE (at 12% N1 or ^)
ITT and N1* - MONITOR (1000 max)
Right Oil Pressure - CHECK
Right Condition Lever - HIGH IDLE
Right Ignition and Engine Start - OFF (at 50% N1 or ^)
Right Generator** - RESET (Hold for 1 sec) then ON (Charge battery until load meter reads 50% or less)
Right Generator - Off
Left Ignition and Engine Start - ON (L FUEL PRESS extinguished)
Left Condition Lever - LOW IDLE (at 12% N1 or ^)
Right Generator - ON
ITT and N1* - MONITOR (1000 max)
Left Oil Pressure - Check
Left Ignition and Engine Start - OFF (at 50% N1 or ^)
DC Volt/Loadmeters - Press to check Voltage (27.5-29.0 V)
Left Generator - Reset (Hold for one sec) then ON
Right Condition Lever. - Low IDLE or as required for air condition
*NOTE: if no ITT rise is observed within 10 secs after moving the condition lever to LOW IDLE, move the condition lever to cut off. Allow 60 secs for fuel to drain and starter to cool, then follow ENGINE CLEARING procedures.
**NOTE: the BATTERY charge annunciator will illuminate approx 06 secs after the generator comes online and extinguish within 05 mins. If it doesn’t, refer to Nickel-Cadmium Battery Check procedure)
Max. ITT when starting: 1000 degrees Celsius
• Max. ITT on T/O: 800 degrees celcius
• Max. ITT on low idle: 750 degrees celcius
• ITT rise within 10 secs, move condition lever to CUT OFF
•
BEFORE ENGINE START
Inverters on (Check inverters for first flight of the day)
> Starting
Key in, BATT ON, PROPS FWD, VOLTAGE CHECK (23V min)
STARTER ON, CHECK LIGHTS (oil pressure, fuel..), WAIT FOR RPM TO STABILIZE INDUCE FUEL (not below 12% N1)
Look for ITT, within limits (750-800)
Disengage starter at 50% N1
Place condition lever to high idle (to bring n1 to 72% for generator to come on)
GEN ON, Check batt light on
Check DC Volts load to come up and then go down to below 50% as battery charges
Gen off
Repeat for next engine
Then start both gens
Ensure inverters on
ENGINE CLEARING
To remove internally trapped fuel and vapor or fire. Air passing thru the engine purges fuel, vapor or fire from the combustion section, gas generator turbine, power turbines and exhaust system.
Condition Lever - FUEL CUT OFF
Ignition and Engine Start - STARTER ONLY (for 40 secs max)
(DO NOT EXCEED STARTER TIME LIMITS)
Ignition and Engine Start - OFF
BEFORE TAXI
Inverters: CHECK (Volts/Freq = 105-120 V/380-420 Hz)
1st inverter - SELECT (Check Volts, Freq, INV Annunciator - OFF)
2nd inverter - SELECT (Check Volts, Freq, INV Annunciator - OFF)
