When advised the ground crew is ready for pushback:
HYDRAULICS panel - Set
TRANS and AUX pump switches ON
FUEL panel - Set
All FUEL PUMP switches ON for all tanks containing fuel.
Flight deck door - Closed and locked
When pushback clearance has been received:
Transponder - ALT ON, or as required by local airport operating procedures
When cleared and ready to start:
SDCP ENG cue - Push
L and R PACK switches - OFF
ENG START switch – Pull
At N1:
FUEL switch - ON
After starting engine(s):
Single Engine
ENG anti-ice - As required
L and R PACK switches - AUTO
ISOL switch - AUTO
After starting engine(s):
Two-Engine Taxi
ENG anti-ice - As required
L PACK switch - AUTO
ISOL switch - AUTO
Engine start procedure - Accomplish
ENG anti-ice - As required
R PACK switch - AUTO
APU panel - Set
AIR switch - OFF
MASTER switch - OFF
Prior to aircraft movement:
(Captain will call “Flaps 5 or 13, etc”)
Select flaps as directed and arm the spoilers.
After WDR has been received:
F-PLN page 1
Verify FMS selected runway and WDR runway/takeoff position agree.
INIT key - Push
PAGE key - Push
Verify WEIGHT INIT page TOCG and ZFWCG.
Compare WDR TOWT with TOGW.
TO/APPR key - Push
Verify FLEX, FLAP, V1, VR, V2, SLOPE/WIND, and OAT.
NADP2 - Verify CLB THRUST, ACCEL, and EO ACCEL at 1000 (AGL).
NADP1 - Verify CLB THRUST, at 1500 (AGL), ACCEL at 3000 (AGL), and EO ACCEL at 1000 (AGL).
Note: All entries may be manually changed if required.
STABILIZER TRIM - Set
SDCP ENG cue - Push
Set STAB to FMS or WDR STAB value.
Note: The FMS computed value may be used in lieu of the WDR value if the difference is 0.5 units or less.
FLAP T.O. SEL - Set
Rotate thumb wheel to WDR flap setting, if required.
Spoilers - ARM
Pull SPEED BRAKE lever straight up to lock in the armed position
Red band and ARM visible.
After WDR has been received AND
When workload and conditions permit:
SDCP CONFIG cue - Push
Ailerons and spoilers - Check
- Check for freedom of movement and full travel turning the control wheel full deflection to each side, and center.
- Observe SPOILER boxes green.
Elevators – Check
- Move control column full aft and observe ELEV deflection, then full forward and hold
- Observe ELEV boxes green in full forward position.
Captain will then call for “Taxi Checklist”
Delayed Start Procedure,
When ready to start:
SDCP ENG cue - Push
R PACK switch - OFF
Engine Start procedure - Accomplish
After engine start:
ENG anti-ice - As required
R PACK switch - AUTO
APU panel - Set
AIR switch - OFF
MASTER switch - OFF
When in proximity to the departure runway:
**PA **- Notify cabin of departure
“FLIGHT ATTENDANTS, PLEASE PREPARE THE CABIN FOR DEPARTURE.”
Receive “THE CABIN IS READY FOR TAKEOFF” report from the flight leader/purser via the interphone.
Runway position, departure, first fix - Verify and verbalize (both pilots)
Runway position, departure, first fix
(PF) Takeoff briefing - Accomplish
Approaching takeoff position:
EAD - Check
- Verify green box
- Check alert and status messages
- (F) Brake Temperature - Check
- SDCP CONFIG cue - Push
- Brake temperature does not exceed 115°C for airport elevations up to 2,200 feet MSL.
SDCP ENG cue - Push
Fuel - Check
Transponder - TA/RA
When cleared for takeoff:
Advance throttles to a minimum of 1.2EPR.
(PF) - “AUTO FLIGHT”
At 80 knots:
(PM) - “80 KNOTS, CLAMP, THRUST NORMAL.”
At V1:
(PM) - “V1”
At VR:
(PM) - “Rotate”
At a positive rate of climb:
(PM) -“Positive Rate”
(PF) - “Gear up”
Above 400 feet AGL:
(PF) - Verify NAV or call “HEADING SELECT”, as required.
At the flap retraction speed:
(PF) - “FLAPS RETRACT.”
At the slat retraction speed:
(PF) - “SLATS RETRACT.”
After SLATS are retracted (PM) -
GASPER BOOSTER FAN - OFF
TRANS and AUX pumps - OFF
APU panel - Set
- Verify APU AIR and MASTER switch - OFF
- Verify APU data block not displayed on SD
FLAP T.O. SEL - STOW
Spoilers - Disarm
- Push SPEED BRAKE handle down
EAD - Check for alert and status messages
(PF) Call - “AFTER TAKEOFF CHECKLIST.”
