Q

arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy

A

arrhytmogenic right ventricular dysplasia; fibrofatty replacement of ventricular myocytes

may require ICD placement

Q

idiopathic assymmetric septal hypertrophy

A

IHSS; variant of hypertrophic caridomyopathy&raquo_space; mitral regurg and left atrial enlargement

may cause LV outflow tract obstruction; wall thickness >15 mm and >1.5x size of lateral wall

wall thickness 30 mm is indication for ICD

Q

restrictive cardiomyopathy

A

small stiff thickened ventricles; dilated atria and IVC

may be due to sarcoidoisis, hemochromatosis, myocardial deposition disease (amyloidosis)

Q

lipomatous hypertrophy of interatrial septum

A

do not mistake for cardiac mass; ddx is liposarcoma
