Airspace where activities are confined to their nature, or where limits are imposed on aircraft that are not part of those activities.
Military operations Area
Freedom to fly through
Separates IFR traffic from military activity
Controlled Firing Area
Similar MoA and not depicted on sectional
Uses spotters to advise ease fire
Freedom to fly through
Prohibited area
Not allowed to fly through
Restricted airspace
Includes TFR
Airspace would be temporarily closed to general public
Could be TFR to protect general public ie; football games, protection to public figures, etc.
NEED permission to enter
Alert area
Area where increased situational awareness is needed
IE; high amount of flight training occurs
Free to fly through
Warning area
May contain activity that is hazardous to non participating aircraft
Usually over international waters
Freedom to fly through
National Security Area
Asked to voluntarily avoid this area for security reasons
Special flight rules area
Requires special training in order to operate in these areas
IE; Washington DC, GRAND CANYON
