Non-Probability Sampling Flashcards
uses non random processes.
Non-Probability Sampling
This technique is usually discriminatory, i.e., some elements in the population might have zero probability of being part of the sample.
Non-Probability Sampling
involves collecting a sample from somewhere near or convenient to the researcher.
Convenience Sampling
It is sometimes called accidental opportunity or
grab sampling.
Convenience Sampling
the researcher chooses a sample based on their knowledge about the population and the study itself.
Purposive Sampling
The study participants are chosen based on the study’s purpose.
Purposive Sampling
It is also known as judgmental, selective or subjective sampling.
Purposive Sampling
the population is grouped into mutually
exclusive subsets (as in stratified sampling).
Then, non – random selection of elements
proportionate to the size of each group is
taken as example.
Quota Sampling
when the participants recruit other
members for the study.
Snowball Sampling
