organisations that are owned and managed in order to achieve objectives other than financial rewards.
charities - make money from donations. money is used to fund charitable activities. charities get tax reduction.
social enterprise = business with social objective. the business trades and make profit like any other business but profits are used to pay for its social activities
mutual organisation = like building societies aim to offer their customers the best possible value on products and services. profits are reinvested in the business to reduce prices.
