Management
A
1st line = enuresis alarms
2nd line = desmopressin

Desmopressin - how to take
A
5+
S/L or oral
Do not give intranasally (increased side effects)

A
Hyponatraemic convulsions

Counselling
A
Avoid fluid overload
- Including during swimming.
- Restrict fluid intake 1 hour before and 8 hours after taking.
Stop during episodes of vomiting/diarrhoea
- Until normal fluid balance restored.
- Avoid concomitant drugs that increase vasopressin secretion (e.g. TCAs)
