PHARMACOKINETICS

Absorption
movement of drugs from the site of administration to the bloodstream
Distribution
movement of the drug from the bloodstream to body tissue
Metabolism
A series of chemical processes whereby enzymes change drugs in the body(C.E.D.B)(Chemical process, Enzymes, Drugs,Body)
Excretion
metabolites are excreted much like other waste product
DRUG ACTION
Depress,Stimulants,Destroy,Replace( Down,Speed,Destroy renew)
Antagonism
one drug decreases or blocks the effect of another drug. ( protagonist vs antagonist)
Synergism
The combined effect of two drugs used together is greater than the sum of each drug’s effect(think energy coming together)
Potentiation
a type of synergism; one drug increases the effect of the second drug.( potential to increase)
