Ineffective Breathing
- Barely Breathing
- Can’t Breath at all
- Fighting / Gasping for air
- Breathing just a little
- Making funny noises
- Turning Blue or Purple
- Hardly Breathing / Stopped Breathing
Choking
Any mention of choking or an airway obstruction
Dangerous Haemorrhage
- Potentially life threatening bleeding due to Trauma
- Haemorrhage of the Dialysis Fistula
- Not Alert
- Suicide Attempt
- Unconscious
Drowning
Any reference to a patient who is drowning or in the water
Fitting Now
Any patient who is fitting
Hanging
Hanging if breathing status is unknown at pre-triage
Major Trauma
- Extreme Fall (over 30ft / 10m)
- Jumped Now
- Stabbed / Gunshot / Penetrating Trauma
- RTC with Unconscious, Fatal, Abnormal or Noisy Breathing
Maternity Complications
- Head Visible
- Breech (Hands, Feet or Buttocks)
- Cord Showing
- Multiple Birth
- 3rd Trimester Pregnancy with PV Bleed
Medical Unconscious
- Unconscious Diabetic
- Unconscious Haemorrhage
- Unconscious Agonal / Ineffective Breathing
Trauma Unconscious
- Unconscious Fall
- Unconscious Assault
- Unconscious Stab / Gunshot / Penetrating Trauma
- Unconscious Haemorrhage
- Unconscious Burns
- Unconscious Electrocution
- Unconscious Traumatic Injury
Severe Allergic Reaction
- History of Severe Allergic Reaction
- Difficulty Breathing or Swallowing
- Medication Administered e.g. EpiPen
Caller has reported that their son has returned home after swimming and appears to be covered in a red itchy rash. Would this be a NOC and if so which?
Yes. This would be a NOC as a Severe Allergic Reaction
Caller is reporting that their brother has had a fit. Would this be a NOC and if so which?
No. This would not be a NOC as they have finished fitting.
