No 1 Test Flashcards
What is speed? ( and give an example)
Speed is the rate that distance is travelled. Eg- 15m/s means that in 1 second to travel 15 m
How do you work out speed?
Speed= distance travelled ———————– Time
A car travels 500 m in 20 seconds. What is its speed?
Speed= 500 —– 20 SPEED= 25M/S
What is the equation for speed?
Speed= distance ———- Time
A ball travels 40 m in 10 seconds. What is its speed?
S= 40 — 10 SPEED= 8M/S
How do you get the average speed of something?
Average speed= total time travelled ——————- Total time taken
Name the forces on a book sat on a table
Weight (down), reaction
When labelling a force what indicates the size of the force?
The length of the arrows
What parts of a graph show different stages?
Steep line- speed is accelerating Flat line- constant speed Less steep line- smaller acceleration Tallest part- maximum speed
Label this distance- time graph
1-going at a constant speed
2-stopped moving
