How to counsel Nitroglycerin SL?

Answer 1

• Take at the first sign of chest pain
• Call 911 immediately if chest pain persists after 1st dose.
• Continue taking 2 additional doses at 5 minutes interval (No >3 doses in 15 mins)

• Place tab under the tongue & dissolve.
• Do not chew, crush & swallow
• Store in original glass bottle and room temperature.

• Prime first
• Do not shake
• Spray onto or under tongue.
• DO NOT inhale spray or rinse mouth 5-10mins after

How to use NL patches?

• Chest is the preferred site
• Do not apply on the extremities below the knees or elbows
• Apply AM & remove after 12-14hours
