21
Q

What do you do when an incident occurs?

A

Complete the AST Incident Report via MobiControl and email report to manager within 24 hours

22
Q

What is frequency data and how is it collected?

A

Discrete behaviors that have clear beginnings and ends (e.g. hitting, elopement, raising hand); each occurrence is reported by tallies or pluses and minuses on Catalyst; otherwise record zero. (Differentiates from rate data because no timer is involved)

23
Q

What is duration data and how is it collected?

A

Behaviors that vary in time (e.g. tantrum, out of seat behavior, attending, etc.). Duration timers start at the ONSET of behavior and stop at the OFFSET of behavior to measure total amount of time client engages in behavior summed over occurrences; otherwise record zero.

24
Q

What is rate data and how is it collected?

A

Discrete behaviors that have clear beginnings and ends (e.g. hitting, elopement, raising hand). Rate timer starts at BEGINNING of session and stops at END of session with pluses and minuses to record number of instances; SAVE data after timer ends.

25
Q

What is quantity data and how is it collected?

A

Permanent outcome data (e.g. percentage of parent participation throughout session).

26
Q

What is task analysis data and how is it collected?

A

Measures level of independence across steps of a task and is reported as number of independent steps over total number of steps in a task presented as percentage.

27
Q

What is anecdotal data and how is it collected?

A

Any data recorded as text such as descriptive, specific items requested, etc.

28
Q

What is whole interval recording and how is it collected?

A

Continuous or High Rate Behavior that occurs for the ENTIRE interval; either a plus or minus on Catalyst.

29
Q

What is partial interval recording and how is it collected?

A

Continuous or High Rate Behavior that occurs AT ANY TIME during the interval; either a plus or minus on Catalyst.

30
Q

What is EID?

A

Expressive Identification; client expresses verbally in tact or descriptive language

31
Q

What is RID?

A

Receptive Identification; client expresses physically by pointing or grabbing

32
Q

What is a baseline trial and how should you run it?

A

Tests client’s current skill level; Only run a baseline once per session and provide NEUTRAL feedback

33
Q

What is a Maintenance trial and how should you run it?

A

Ascertains whether a client has retained what was taught in acquisition; run in between acquisitions or to gain attention

34
Q

What are the types of goals addressed in session?

A

Communication, Play, Adaptive, Cognition, Maladaptive, Self-Management

35
Q

What are the types of barriers addressed in session?

A

No Barriers, High Rates of Problem Behavior, Environmental Factors

36
Q

What should you do if you experience IT problems with Catalyst?

A

Chat on Catalyst portal, submit support request, or email support@datafinch.com

37
Q

What is the standard ratio for maintenance to acquisition trials

A

4 maintenance trials for every 1 acquisition trial

38
Q

What are the 4 Functions of Behavior?

A

Attention, Escape, Access to tangible item or activity, Automatic Reinforcement

39
Q

What is Non-Contingent Reinforcement?

A

Providing regular access to reinforcer with schedule that is not contingent on occurrence of target behavior; satiates operant conditions or extinguishes challenging behavior (ex: asking for tangible object and then giving immediately back to client)

40
Q

What is Functional Communication Training FCT?

A

Teaches an alternative and appropriate communicative response that produces the same reinforcer that maintained the challenging behavior (e.g. “You can say…”, prompt mands, provide break card)

41
Q

What are the 4 Consequence Strategies?

A

Extinction, Redirection, Differential Reinforcement, 3 Step Guided Compliance

42
Q

What is Differential Reinforcement?

A

Increases appropriate behavior while decreasing challenging behavior (e.g. alternative behavior DRA or incompatible behavior DRI)

43
Q

What are the 3 steps of guided compliance and how is reinforcement different?

A

Tell, Show, Do. Reinforce on the prompt.

44
Q

What is extinction and how do you do it?

A

Discontinuation or withholding reinforcement for previously reinforced behavior (e.g. withholding attention or tangible, non-removal of non-preferred task)

45
Q

What is redirection?

A

Assisting client to original task or another activity

46
Q

What are the 3 steps in the Parent Consultation Model?

A

Check in, Active Feedback (modeling for and watching parent), De-Brief

47
Q

What is IOA and how is it calculated?

A

Inter Observer Agreement; number of trials agreed upon divided by total number of trials and presented as percentage

48
Q

When should you use continuous reinforcement?

A

When introducing a new skill

49
Q

What is the Catalyst portal (website) used for?

A

Manually entering data and submitting support requests

50
Q

What do you do if you enter the wrong data on Catalyst?

A

Email manager to delete incorrect data, log on to portal and manually enter correct data. Save paper data and give to manager.

51
Q

Which of these does AST do: interspersed trialing, or Mass Trialing?

A

Interspersed; AST does NOT do mass trialing, time outs, response costs, verbal reprimands, physical punishment, or aversive stimuli.
