A

non-profit citizen-based groups functioning independently of the government. Organized on community, national and international levels to serve specific social or political purposes and are cooperative rather than commercial in nature. They attempt to achieve their goals by lobbying (attempting to bring pressure to bear on policy makers to gain policy outcomes in their favor.
