A Network Function Chain defines the flow of traffic through different VNFs to achieve a desired network service. Each VNF in the chain performs a specific function or set of functions, and the chaining of these functions creates a service path.

It represents the interconnections and relationships between various virtualized network functions (VNFs) in a more abstract and graphical manner. While a Network Function Chain (NFC) specifies a sequential order of VNFs for a specific service, a Network Function Graph provides a broader view of the relationships and dependencies between different functions within the entire network architecture.
- Nodes: Each node represents a specific VNF or a network function.
-Edges: Edges between nodes represent the connections or DEPENDENCIES between the associated functions. These connections might indicate the flow of data, signaling, or some other form of interaction between the functions.
The Network Function Graph is a more flexible and abstract representation, allowing for a dynamic and adaptable network architecture. It captures not only the linear flow of functions in a service chain but also the potential for parallel processing, distributed architectures, and other complex relationships between network functions.
