What is a nexus?
3-9 scrum teams that work together to deliver a single product
What 3 issues does the nexus framework aim to solve?
- Cross-team dependencies
- Lack of team self management and transparency
- Lack of accountability
Who is in the nexus integration team?
The Product Owner
A Scrum Master (may also be a S.M of one of the scrum teams in the nexus)
1 or more nexus integration team members- people with the relevant skills & knowledge to help resolve any issues the nexus faces
What does cross-team refinement mean? What’s a cross refinement board?
When people from all the scrum teams come together to identify, minimize and/or remove any cross-team dependencies between the PBIs.
Helps the scrum teams forecast which teams will deliver which PBIs
*A cross-refinement board is a visualization of the cross dependencies between and within teams
What are the 3 types of dependency?
- Build sequence
- People/skills
- External
What does a horizontal arrow represent?
Dependency within a team across time. LOW RISK
What does a diagonal arrow represent?
Dependency that is across teams and across time
What does a vertical arrow represent?
Dependency that is across teams and within a sprint. HIGH RISK
What does an arrow pointing downwards/down diagonally mean?
Represents dependencies on an external group
