Newtons Laws Flashcards
Force
A push or pull is exerted on an object to change its motion of the object.
Motion
A change in position over time.
Net Force
The combination of all the forces acting on an object.
Speed
Distance traveled per rate of time.
Speed=Distance/Time.
Velocity
The speed and direction of an object.
Acceleration
The rare of which velocity changes over time.
Newton’s First Law
An objects not going to move at all unless another force does.
Newton’s Second Law
Force= Mass x Acceleration.
Newton’s Third Law
For every force, there is an equal or opposite force.
Inertia
To resist the tendency of an object to resist being moved. Or when moving the tendency to make an object stop moving.
Friction
A force that resists motion.
Mass
The amount of matter in an object.
Gravity
An attractive force exists between all objects that have mass.
