Newton's Laws of Motion Flashcards
First law of Emotion
An object in motion will stay in motion, and an object t rest will stay at rest unless an unbalanced force acts on it.
Second law of Emotion
An object that has an unbalanced force acting on it will accelerate in the direction of that force.
Third law of Emotion
Force always occur in equal and opposite pairs.
Motion
a change in an object’s position over time.
Reference point
The object that appears to stay in place.
Speed
An object is a measure of the distance an object moves in a given amount of time.
Velocity
An object is a quantity that describe the speed of the object and its direction of travel.
Acceleration
The rate at which velocity change
Inertia
The tendency of objects to resist any change in motion.
Reference frame
It makes sense to choose a set of objects that are all stationary with respect to each other.
