Newton's Laws Of Motion Flashcards
Force
A push or pull on an object in order to change the motion of that object.
Motion
Change in position over time.
Net Force
All forces acting on an object
Speed
Distance traveled per rate of time
Velocity
The speed and direction of an object
Acceleration
The rate at which velocity changes over time.
Newton’s First Law
An object at rest will remain at rest an object at motion will remain at motion unless acted upon by an outside force.
Newtons Second Law
Force = Mass x Acceleration
Newtons Third Law
For every action there is a equal or opposite action.
Inertia
The tendency of an object to resist being moved or, if the object is moving, to resist a change in speed or direction until an outside force acts on the object.
Friction
A force that resists motion.
Mass
The amount of matter in an object.
Gravity
An attractive force that exist between all objects between all objects that have mass.
