Newton's Laws of Motion Flashcards
The property of a body by virtue of which it opposes any change in its state of rest or motion.
Inertia
What is the measure of inertia?
Mass
Two types of frame:
Inertial frame and Non-Inertial frame.
Examples of Inertial Frame:
- Any frame fixed with ground or ground. 2. Any frame moving with constant velocity wrt. ground.
Examples of non-Inertial Frame:
- Any frame(object) moving with some acc. wrt to ground. 2. Any rotating frame.
Ground (Earth) is Inertial or non-Inertial Frame?
Ground is non-inertial frame but for numerical purpose it is taken as inertial frame.
2nd law of motin:
“Rate of change of momentum is directly proportional to the force applied.”
While drawing FBD all the forces should be either in the direction of motion or perpendicular to it. If it is not so then what will you do.
Resolve.
While drawing FBD if answer of acc. is -ve What does it mean?
It means our answer is correct we have to only change the direction of acceleration.
Meaning of frame?

Trick in Pulley System for acc. relation betw. two block.
Multiply the Tension(T) of a block with with its acc. - Multiply the Tension((T) of another block with its accn. ) and put it equal to zero.
