Newton's Laws Flashcards
Force
A push or pull extended on an object in order ti change the motion of the object
Motion
A change in position over time
Net Force
Combination of all forces acting on an object.
Speed
Distance traveled per rate of time.
Velocity
The speed and direction of an object.
Acceleration
The rate at which velocity changes over time.
Newtons First Law
An object in motion will remain in motion a motion at rest will stay at rest unless acted by an outside force
Newtons second law
force=mass x acceleration
Newtons third law
For every action there is an equal but opposite reaction.
Inertia
Tendency of an object to resist being moved or to resist a change or speed in direction
Friction
A force that resists motion.
Mass
The amount of matter in an object
Gravity
An attractive force that exists between all things that have mass
