Newton's Law of Motion Flashcards
Force
A push or pull exerted on an object in order to change the motion of that object
Motion
A change in position over time
Net Force
The combination of all the farces acting on an object.
Speed
Distance traveled per rate of time.
Velocity
The speed and direction of an object
Acceleration
How Much your velocity changes over time.
Newtons first law
An object wants to keep doing what its doing unless something messes with it.
Newtons second law
force= max x acceleration
Newtons third law
For every action there is an equal but opposite reaction.
Inertia
The tendency of an object to resist being mover or if the object is moving, to resist a change in speed or direction until an outside force acts on the object.
Friction
A force that resist motion
Mass
The amount of matter in an object
Gravity
An attractive force that exists between all objects that have mass
