Newton's Law of motion Flashcards
Force
A push or pull exerted on a object in order to change the motion of the object.
Motion
A change in position over time.
Net force
The combination of all the forces acting on an object
Speed
Distance traveled per rate of time.
Speed = distance/time
Velocity
The speed and direction of an object.
Acceleration
Teh rate in which velocity changes over time
Newtons First law Of motion
An object at rest will stay at rest an object in motion will stay in motion unless acted upon an outside force.
Newtons Second Law Of motion
Force = mass x exeleration
Newtons Third Law Of Motion
For every action their is an equal but opposite reaction
Inertia
The tendency of an object to resist being moved ot, if the object is moving, to resist a change in speed, or direction unless and outside force acts on the object
Friction
A force that resists motion
Mass
The amount of matter in an object
Gravity
An attractive force that exist between all objects that have mass.
