Newton's Law Flashcards
Newton’s First Law
states that an object continues in a state of rest or uniform velocity unless it is acted upon by an unbalanced force
Newton’s Second Law
states that when a net force is applied to an object of mass, it accelerates in the direction of the net force. The acceleration is directly proportional to the net force and inversely proportional to the mass
Newton’s Third Law
states that when object A exerts a force on object B, object B simultaneously exerts an opportunity directed force of equal magnitude on object A
Newton’s Law of universal gravitation
states that each particle in the universe attracts every other particle with a gravitational force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the centres.
