when we consider biblical, theological, and historical foundations of he practice of prayer, we need to keep the following features in mind

- remembrance- remember who we are praying to
- corporate- we are not praying our prayer in public we are praying as a community for the community
- multidirectional prayer- it matters that we prayer for others not just ourselves
