New Deal, Rise of Global Fascism, and WWII
The New Deal was a series of programs introduced by FDR to address the Great Depression. The rise of fascism, particularly in Italy and Germany, contributed to the outbreak of World War II.
The First New Deal
Aimed at relief and recovery, it included programs like the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and the Agricultural Adjustment Act (AAA).(1933–1934)
The Second New Deal
Focused on reform, including Social Security, the Wagner Act (supporting unions), and the Works Progress Administration (WPA). (1935-1936)
Progressive Shift
A shift toward more government intervention in the economy and society, including the New Deal policies.
Treaty of Versailles
Ended WWI, imposing heavy reparations on Germany and redrawing European borders, which contributed to WWII.
Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party
Hitler’s rise to power in Germany (1933) led to the creation of a totalitarian state, advocating for fascism and the persecution of Jews and other minorities.
Charles Lindbergh
Famous US aviator known for his solo transatlantic flight; later became an outspoken isolationist before WWII.

The rise of far-right and Nazi sympathizers in the U.S. in the 1930s, advocating for fascism and anti-Semitism.
America First Committee
A non-interventionist group that opposed U.S. involvement in WWII, believing in the policy of isolationism.
