Insure no lines are flowing, check your compound gauge = static

If lines flowing = residual

Describe 1st digit method

A
Obtain hydrant, record static pressure
Multiple 1st digit of static by 1,2,3
Open discharge and flow water
Record residual pressure
Subtract residual from static 
If pressure drop doesn't exceed 1st line, 3 lines can flow
2nd line, 2 lines can flow 
3rd line, 1 line can flow
